Michigan Supreme Court: City Doesn't Have To Clear Sidewalks

Sidewalks are part of the "highway" for purposes of determining governmental immunity, but snow accumulated on them is not a "defect", the Michigan Supreme Court said in an order announced Monday ending a lawsuit, at least against the City of Lansing, by parents of a child killed while walking on the street to avoid snow-packed sidewalks
